FAQ

The Science, Answered

What is a neurocosmetic?

Neurocosmetics are skincare formulations designed around the skin–mind axis: the well-documented connection between the nervous system and skin biology. Stamina® uses adaptogens and hypochlorous acid to support the skin's stress response and barrier function.

What are topical adaptogens?

Topical adaptogens are botanical and biological ingredients that help skin adapt to environmental, hormonal, and emotional stressors. Dr. MBK co-authored the JCAD systematic review that formally classified them in dermatology.

Why hypochlorous acid (HOCl)?

HOCl is a naturally occurring molecule produced by the immune system. In skincare, it's a gentle, microbiome-respectful way to calm reactive, breakout-prone skin without disrupting the barrier. Stamina® uses clinical and stabilized hypochlorous acid (HOCl).

Is Stamina® safe for sensitive or post-procedure skin?

Yes. Stamina® was developed specifically for stress-prone, reactive, and post-procedure skin. Our formulas are pH-balanced, fragrance-free, and barrier-safe. The Mist is widely used in dermatology and aesthetic practices for post-laser cooling.

Where can I read the peer-reviewed work?

Dr. MBK's published work appears in Modern Aesthetics, the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology (JCAD), Practical Dermatology, and the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology (JOCD). Direct links to all papers are in the research grid above.
